Barber Wilsons, the oldest independent, family-owned company in the United Kingdom, has been manufacturing water fittings for three centuries. Founded in 1899 as the Wilson Brothers, the company has grown from a small factory to its current headquarters on bustling Crawley Road. Over the years, especially during wartime, the company diversified to manufacture supplies for military aircraft, vessels, hospitals, and more.
With the revival of period-style bathrooms in the 1970s and 1980s, the company's fortunes recovered as it re-introduced a comprehensive brassware range. By the turn of the century, Barber Wilsons was the only remaining independent family-run brassware manufacturing company in the UK.
